January 2025 Recap

Note: This is not a blog, it's a semi-private digital garden with mostly first drafts that are often co-written with an LLM. Unless I shared this link with you directly, you might be missing important context or reading an outdated perspective.

Some pieces of (AI assisted) writing from January 2025.

One clear theme was humane personal computing. For time management and review, I tried to paper for input and have AI process it after the fact — Pomodoro GPT. In my chronic pain days I had to severely budget the time at a computer. Now, I do a lot more Slow Computing, to the point where for personal purposes I want my phone to be just a CPU/GPU in my pocket Phone as a Compute Puck.md, Computation without Computers.

I got to use all the AI tools in a lot more depth than before, starting with simple things like custom GPTs (Nonfiction Book Review GPT) to many intermediate tools that aren’t ready to share, and that led to some thinking about Knowledge Sharing Incentives post AI.

I did also give some thought to what remains invariant about software development in the AI era — - Software Primitive Design.
